Terms of use

The simple rules for using Guff Gaff. By signing in, you agree to them.

1. Who can use Guff Gaff

You must be 18 or older. Use your real name or a name your friends will recognise, and keep your sign-in and passcode to yourself.

2. Groups and invites

Groups are private and invite only. Group admins can invite and remove members, choose how long messages last, remove messages from their group, and turn Guffu and greetings on or off. Please only invite people who would want to be there.

3. Be a good friend

Please don’t use Guff Gaff to:

• harass, bully, threaten or abuse anyone
• share anything illegal, hateful or sexually explicit, or anything involving children in a harmful way
• share other people’s private information or photos without their permission
• pretend to be someone else, send spam or scams, or try to break or misuse the app

We may suspend or remove accounts that break these rules.

4. Your content

What you post stays yours. You give Sirnex Tech permission to store, encrypt and deliver it to the people in your group (and to Guffu when someone in your group calls it), only so the app can work. Only share things you have the right to share.

5. Disappearing messages are not a backup

Messages, photos, videos and voice messages are deleted automatically on the schedule your group admin chooses, and when accounts are deleted. Once deleted, they can’t be recovered. Keep your own copy of anything precious.

6. Guffu, the AI friend

Guffu is an AI. It can be funny and helpful, but it can also be wrong. Its replies are not medical, financial or legal advice; please check important things with a professional. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

7. The service

Guff Gaff is free. We work hard to keep it running smoothly and securely, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. We may change, pause or stop features, and we’ll give notice in the app where we reasonably can.

8. Responsibility

To the extent the law allows, Sirnex Tech is not responsible for what members post, or for any loss caused by using or not being able to use the app. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

9. Leaving

You can leave any group or delete your account at any time on the Me page. See our Privacy policy for what happens to your information.

10. Changes and law

We may update these terms. We’ll change the date below and mention big changes in the app. These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia. Questions? Email privacy@sirnex.com.au.
